Linking FAQs

How do I sign up to be a part of the Community?

Go to http://www.newtrackandfield.com/ and click on the “Sign-up” link in the top right portion of the page. Alternatively you can go to http://www.newtrackandfield.com/accounts/new. Now just fill out the required information and select “Create New Account” when you are done! You’ll then be prompted to enter your Community ID. If you know this then go ahead and enter it, but if you don’t that is fine. You can leave the page and enter it at any time in the future. For information on how to find your Community ID please read the “What is my Community ID and how do I view it?” topic of this FAQ.

What is my Community ID and how do I view it?

Your Community ID is a code unique to your DS and save file. The ID is used to link your game to an account on this website. To view your Community ID you are going to need wireless Internet access so you can go online with New International Track & Field. Once you can go online with your DS, select “Sign In” from the game’s main menu. When signing in you’ll see a 16 digit code on the top screen. This is your Community ID. If you accidentally skip past your code you can view it again by going to “Profile” from the main online menu and then selecting the left-most icon.

How do I link my game to the Community site to get the most out of my New International Track & Field experience?

First, you need to do two things: sign up for the Community, and find your Community ID. You can find how to do both of these by reading the “How do I sign up to be a part of the Community?” and “What is my Community ID and how to I view it?” topics of the FAQ. If you have an account and know your Community ID, all you have to do is sign in to http://www.newtrackandfield.com/ and then go to your profile by selecting the “My Profile” option from your personal drop-down menu in the top right portion of the page. Alternatively you can go to http://www.newtrackandfield.com/account/claim_slot/. Here you can enter and your Community ID and link your account!

I erased my game data. Can I link my new game data to my existing account?

You sure can. Just log in to the Community site and select “Link Account” from your personal drop down menu (or go to http://www.newtrackandfield.com/account/claim_slot/) and enter your new Community ID. You account will then link to your new game data.

How do I upload my stats to the Community site?

Your stats will automatically update when you are online in New International Track and Field. If you have made progress that does not show up in your account profile then sign in to Nintendo WFC in New International Track & Field.

Scoreboard FAQs

How are Global Rankings determined?

The Global Rankings points are a sum of your personal best event scores. Global Rankings do not take individual event bonuses into account.

How are Event rankings determined?

Each event is ranked by its own criteria: score, time, distance, weight, etc. Your score for each event is your personal best.

How are Series rankings determined?

Series scores are your best scores for the series as a whole. Individual event bonuses are taken into account for Series scores. Note that you may not have achieved your personal best for an event in your best series run. Because of this (and because Series use bonuses while Global Rankings do not) your Global Ranking will not by a direct sum of your Series scores.

How are Classic mode rankings determined?

Classic mode scores come directly from your best Classic mode run in the game.

How are Expert mode rankings determined?

Expert mode scores come directly from your best Expert mode run in the game.

How are Challenge rankings determined?

Each Challenge score comes directly from your best score for that challenge in the game.

What are custom leaderboards and how do I use them?

Custom leaderboards are a way for you to filter the leaderboards so they only show the players you want to see. By default, everyone is in your custom leaderboard. If you start adding players to your custom leaderboard then it will only show those who you have added. To add someone to your custom leaderboard, select the green + by their name in any of the leaderboard pages. To remove them, select the red X.

How are Teams ranked?

Each team is ranked by its average points. These points are the sum of the averages of the top three scores for each event for each team. If one of the top three scores for an event is 0 then this score is not taken into account for the team's average points. For more information on teams, please read the Team FAQs.

Team FAQs

What are teams?

Teams are a way for you to join up with your friends and see how you rank as a whole. Each team also gets its own private forum for team discussion. Each team has its own profile page and is ranked in the online leaderboards.

How do I join a team?

You can search for a team by clicking on the “Teams” link in the page header or by going to http://www.newtrackandfield.com/teams/. When you have found a team you like, go to their profile page and select click “Join the Team”. Note that a team must be recruiting in order for you to join.

How do I start a team?

To start your own team, first make sure you are not a member of any other team. Leave your current team if you are in one. Now click on the “Start a Team” button from the main page, or go to http://www.newtrackandfield.com/teams/new/. From here you can fill out all the information about your team. If you want others to be able to join your team make sure you set it to be “Recruiting”. You can upload an avatar for your team from your computer. Once everything is set just click “Create Team” and you’re done.

What types of team avatars are appropriate and what are inappropriate?

Use your best judgment and if you think an image may be inappropriate do not upload it. Some examples of inappropriate images are racist imagery, nudity, sexual content, drug references, offensive symbols, and overly violent art. If you see an inappropriate image on the site, report it to the moderators. If you upload three inappropriate images, then your privileges of being able to upload images will be revoked.

How do I leave a team?

To leave your team, go to your team’s profile page. Then select the link to leave your team.

How do I disband my team?

To disband your team you must be the team leader. Go to your team’s profile page and then select “Memberships”. You must remove each team member from your team by selecting the “Remove” links by their names. Once they are all removed you will see a “Disband” link to disband your team.
